THE DUTCH DRAUGHT

MORPHOLOGY

The Dutch Draught is a cross breed between the Shire and the Dutch Warmblood. The Dutch Draught is a baroque horse, with a neck very caracteristic. This race is sportive, and have prononced muscles. The head is like the shire, expressive, kind, intelligent, and he has a convex bevel.

 

After some bredings, the stable insert Andalusian blood in the lignage. The Dutch Draught gain in softness, but kept the caracteristicts below. He has gain ondulated hair.

The ideal Dutch Draught is a very kind horse. Calm in the box for the human manipulation, he doesn't show any agressivity with human or other horses. But he hates noises and can be retradted on himself if he is brusqued.

 

The insert of Andalusian blood made them mouth sensitive and delicat, but their caracter hasn't changed.

USES

The Dutch Draught is a dressage horse by excellence. He is energic, has great gaits and a very big concentration capacity. He has a very sensitive mounth, and can't be mounted by anyone.

 

But of course, the Dutch Draught can parform in other disciplines : a particulary endurant horse could compet on eventing, a too energic horse who cant focus enought can do show jumping ... And of course, all the horses have abilities in driving.
